Odrentron Ashore

Poems, blogs, and letters humming with salt air and guitar strings.

A close-up of a single sheet of creamy stationery clipped to a small wooden clipboard, propped against a sun-bleached rock on the beach. The page is partially written with looping lines, but the words are just suggestive squiggles, not readable text. Beside it lies a smooth, turquoise-glazed ceramic mug and a pair of earbuds loosely coiled, their cable tracing a musical note shape in the sand. Soft overcast light creates even, diffused illumination with almost no harsh shadows, giving a calm, contemplative mood. Photographic realism, with a low-angle composition that lets the blurred ocean and sky fill the top of the frame in muted blues and grays.
A weathered driftwood writing desk set alone on a quiet sandy beach, its pale, salt-smoothed surface scattered with a spiral notebook, an old-fashioned fountain pen, and a tiny conch shell acting as a playful paperweight. Gentle waves roll in the middle distance, slightly out of focus. Soft golden hour sunlight bathes the scene, casting long, warm shadows and catching sparkles on the water. The mood is dreamy and inviting, suggesting ideas just about to be written. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field, keeping the notebook and pen in crisp focus while the ocean and sky blur into a pastel backdrop.

Where Tide Meets the Words

Odrentron started as poems, scribbles, random thoughts and ideas written as individual files on a computer. This amateur website is intended as a place for my kids, family and friends to get an idea of my crazy thoughts and to give an insight into my strategy of coping with the high and low tides of life. These pieces are the bottled messages: poems, blog rambles, reviews, and letters, thrown into the surf for curious minds to find.

Credo

I write like low tide and high tide revealing the ups and downs of dealing with life’s challenges. Sharing my thoughts and off-key choruses. Words should feel like humming along to a favorite song or opening your mind to new perspectives while the horizon rearranges what you thought you knew.

OR, “My credo is, if you have to have a credo, you know, ‘Go for it,’ pretty much. You only go around this crazy merry-go-round once! You know?” Clark Griswold

An overhead view of a neat spiral of handwritten poem pages arranged like a sun on a pale wooden boardwalk that leads toward the ocean. At the center sits a small, teal Bluetooth speaker and a smooth, heart-shaped stone. Beyond the boardwalk, soft-focus dunes and sea grass sway. The light is soft morning sunlight, cool and clear, casting delicate, radial shadows from the pages. The mood is gently energetic and optimistic, as if lyrics and lines are spinning out from the music. Photographic realism with sharp focus throughout, emphasizing textures of paper fibers, worn wood, and sand grains caught between the boards.
