I remember the sound of the alarm, the mornings we were kids
You would whisper one more minute and put a pillow on your head
Mom, me or a small band could not shake you from your slumber
Dad made a wry smile then his calm but firm voice tell you son it was time to wake up
Only his strong voice and soft touch could get you on your way
Where are you brother? I do not have your quiet demean
My elbows are sharper, I spark many more complains
Our paths were different but we always remained
My best friend I never had to explain
Where are you brother? We did not say goodbye
Your soul was that of a writer, the arts, music, you were a learned man
Your intellect shined out to people no matter where they stand
Only surpassed by your kindness you spread to the world
and love for your daughter and family always told
Yesterday I feel asleep watching the game
Flashes of light, dreams, repose in my brain
I could feel myself fighting my way back from the fog
In those moments of borderline sleep I see you and others already gone
I hear my name, feel a touch, confused but I am again born
Where are you brother? I do not have your quiet demean
My elbows are sharper, I spark many more complains
Our paths were different but we always remained
My best friend I never had to explain
Where are you brother? We did not say goodbye
And on that last wake up we all must take
We will answer the question of our eternal fate
I pray you heard Dad calling your name, touching you on the shoulder
Letting you know this final wake will be ok
Son follow me for one last rise, your papasan will guide you to the other side
It is your time for a new dawn filled with faith, joy and eternal peace
And I hope on my last call it is your voice I hear
Your hand exiended to lead me to answer the final mystery
A bright light with loved ones showing the way
Eternal peace, painfree, is what I pray
Where are you brother?
